On April 3rd, 2024, Flexera announced its recognition by Oracle Corporation as the first Oracle Software Asset Management (SAM) tool for Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) applications. Oracle has officially announced that Flexera and Snow Software (that got acquired by Flexera in February 2024) on its Oracle License Management Services – Tooling page.
Benefits for end users
By adding Oracle E-Business Suite, Flexera is now verified by Oracle for gathering raw deployment and usage data for four different product groups:
- Oracle Database and Database Options
- Oracle Fusion Middleware
- Oracle Java SE
- Oracle E-Business Suite
Benefits for Oracle
This development also benefits Oracle, as it provides easier access to the E-Business Suite data during an audit. The audit process not only saves time but also serves as a commercial opportunity for Oracle. It allows them to address any identified non-compliance issues quickly or even present Oracle Fusion Cloud as an alternative solution. Oracle Fusion Cloud is currently Oracle’s strategic offering for its application portfolio. By having access to the actual usage data of Oracle E-Business Suite programs as deployed on-premises via Flexera, Oracle can measure what this usage would mean in case the end-user would transform to Oracle’s Fusion Cloud.
