Citrix product & license update 2024

It's official! Citrix has announced changes to its portfolio and product licensing as of March 4, 2024. This will result in some changes for existing customers, which we would like to inform you about.

First things first, we're excited to share with you that SoftwareOne is still going strong as a Platinum Partner with Citrix. This partner status is the highest possible, highlighting our top position in the realm of Citrix solutions. This is particularly important right now, as Citrix is not just tweaking its licensing model, but also bundling its product lineup, bringing about some fresh changes. The variety of individual products has been combined into new suites as subscriptions.

In this process, most of the previously available individual products are no longer available. The only exception here is a variety of NetScaler products.

If you plan to expand your existing infrastructure - or at the latest, upon maintenance renewal - transitioning to these new products is necessary. Transitioning also involves aligning all Citrix products to end simultaneously.

As far as we are currently aware, perpetual renewals for fewer than 1,000 licenses in the commercial segment are still possible. Likewise, renewal of NetScaler hardware (MPX, SDX) for at least 3 years or until the devices reach their end-of-life is possible, depending on what comes first. You can continue to renew VPX perpetual licenses annually as before.
