SoftwareOne, a leading global software and cloud solutions provider, has been recognised in a new report by Technology Business Research, Inc. (TBR) for its distinctive strategy for SAP clients in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland). This recognition highlights SoftwareOne’s approach to addressing market opportunities and challenges created by RISE with SAP, GROW with SAP, S/4HANA migrations, and the 2025 and 2027 ERP Central Component (ECC) end of mainstream support deadlines.

Approach with DACH region stands out for agility, speed, and cost-effectiveness

Key strengths of SoftwareOne cited by TBR include:

  • Takes a Differentiated, Pragmatic Approach:  SoftwareOne’s approach stands apart from ‘almost every other IT Services company in the SAP ecosystem’ as delivering an iterative transformation approach tailored to best suit client needs and capabilities. SoftwareOne removes cost and complexity by analysing what can be discarded, kept, and transformed using Selective Data Transition tools from Schneider-Neureither & Partner SE (SNP), augmented by its own I.P. Rather than advocate for complete business process reengineering, SoftwareOne streamlines SAP systems across multiple dimensions, such as reducing data footprint, automating custom code remediation, optimising licensing entitlements, and enhancing security.

  • Reduces SAP Confusion and Costs: SoftwareOne recognises the complexity of decision-making regarding conversion from ECC to SAP S/4HANA, especially with the focus on RISE with SAP and access to innovation like SAP Business AI.  The report notes that SoftwareOne addresses these issues with a clear, straightforward value proposition that removes confusion and lowers costs.

  • Operates with a unique Clean Core Strategy: SoftwareOne supports SAP’s ‘clean core’ recommendation by first assessing which customisations can be discarded, then how required remediation can be automated. This approach sets up clients to become ‘Innovation-ready’ and positioned to continue their transformation journey in an agile manner using an iterative approach. This approach includes providing recommendations on delineating between use of the SAP Business Technology Platform and the selected hyperscaler(s)’ own innovation platform.

Stephan Timme, Regional President DACH of SoftwareOne, commented: "There has never been a more complex time for SAP decision-making, which is why we have chosen a different approach to supporting the needs of our clients. This report highlights our key differentiators: a fast, easy, agile, and cost-effective migration path, that clients really value. While there is no magic wand to shift all past customisations out of your Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, our pragmatic approach puts the business outcomes of our clients first, ensuring they achieve their SAP goals."

TBR said it believes SoftwareOne’s approach is particularly well-suited for small and medium-sized business (SMBs) and midsized organisations with less complex IT environments, helping them modernise ERP systems and address technological limitations of ECC.

Patrick Heffernan, Principal Analyst & Practice Manager at TBR, stated: "SoftwareOne does not dance around the business issues, but instead gets straight to where it excels: solving the SAP challenges of licensing, migrating, and maintaining. SoftwareOne is honest about the challenges businesses face, and it does only what is necessary, setting up the client for a winning strategy."
